The Dutch Cancer Institute (NKI) and the University of Amsterdam are partnering up in a collaborative project. This project will develop algorithms to help in the treatment of cancers. After the ICAI AI for Oncology Lab, which specializes in using AI to aid in the diagnosis of cancers, they are now launching a new ICAI lab focusing on AI-driven precision radiotherapy. The goal of this close cooperation between NKI and UvA is to treat patients better and faster, and thus to help head off a critical increase in pressure on the health care system in the coming years.
