A consortium named OpenBots, including TU Delft, the University of Amsterdam, TNO, and the Royal Netherlands Marechaussee, is developing advanced AI for surveillance robots. These robots will assist human security personnel by performing routine tasks, such as patrolling fences, detecting objects, and identifying individuals. The five-year project focuses on human-robot collaboration, with the University of Amsterdam contributing AI models for robot perception. Field testing of these AI systems will take place in the final two years of the project.
